NICO Life — Insurance Platform
Delivered a high-performance insurance platform for one of Malawi's leading life insurance providers, establishing a credible digital presence for retail and institutional markets.

The Brief
NICO Life Insurance is one of Malawi's most established life insurance providers. Their digital presence did not reflect the credibility and scale of the business, creating a gap between their institutional reputation and what prospective clients encountered online.
I was engaged to redesign and rebuild the platform with a focus on trust, clarity, and conversion — producing a site that could serve both retail policy-seekers and the institutional partners NICO Life relies on for distribution.
The engagement covered platform architecture, content strategy, visual design, and technical delivery — with a specific requirement for compliance-appropriate framing of all financial product information.
The Approach

Trust Architecture
Insurance is a trust-dependent sector. I structured the information hierarchy around proof of financial stability, regulatory standing, and track record before any product information.
Product Clarity
I designed clear product pages for each insurance line — life, health, group — with benefit tables, eligibility criteria, and clear call-to-action paths to enquiry.
Compliance Framing
All financial product copy was structured to meet standard insurance regulatory requirements, with appropriate disclaimers and professional guidance language.
Performance Delivery
Built on a high-performance Next.js stack with sub-second load times — critical for markets where mobile internet performance is variable.
Mobile-First Design
Designed mobile-first for the Malawian market where the majority of internet access is via mobile device.
